LIVING LABS AWARDS 2017

This project's goal is to help senior citizens manage their health conditions more easily by utilizing the ComCare platform, a service that combines wearable devices and IoT in order to gather and upload users’ health data instantly. In this way, seniors, their family members, and/or their caregivers can immediately get access to important statistics such as health data, time of activity, etc. so as to 1) help seniors actively manage their own health and stay active, 2) give family members instant access to seniors’ health data, and 3) help caregivers save time by automatically recording and uploading physiological data via ICT.

LIVING LABS AWARDS 2016

Aiming to promote health and well-being of all citizens and extend Healthy Life Expectancy (HALE), Living Labs Taiwan has launched a health promotion empirical research project in 2016. The purpose was to assess and verify the feasibility and effectiveness of exercise management using a wearable device supported by health management IoT cloud service.


The favorable results promise a gateway to public health promotion with focus on the importance of physical activity in promoting health and preventing obesity. The implication of this study also best exemplifies hardware-software ICT integration with an innovative service model which enables the users to gain control over their bodies and health.

3D Picture Frame


With the unprecedent success of Avator in 2010, stereoscopic 3D content and visualization draw tremendous amount of interest in general public. Our technology is demonstrated through a vending machine service. The vending machine is equipped with a digital camera, laser printer, and lenticular photo frame. The photo of user is taken and converted into 3D format. User can then choose a background from a range of famous Taiwan tour spots, such as Taipei 101, Sun Moon Lake, etc..

A recent survey by John Tung Foundation showed that the pupils in Taiwan generally had a problem of insufficient intake of dairy products. Many pupils intended to skip breakfasts to save the money for something they fancy. The Health and Vitality Vending Station provides the service to help parents to teach their children a correct thought on the usages of money.
